Mehr als 1.000 Menschen – vor allem in bundesdeutschen Großstädten (u.a. Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Köln) – haben seit Inkrafttreten des – nach wie vor umstrittenen – SBGG Selbstbestimmungsgesetzes im November 2024 ihr Geschlecht gewechselt. Das berichtet die Schweizer Weltwoche unter Berufung auf die FAZ Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung und die KNA Katholische Nachrichtenagentur. Danach wird seitens der Bundesregierung mit jährlich 4.000 „Fällen“ gerechnet. Es gibt die Optionen männlich, weiblich, divers und keine Angabe. Derzeit, so die Weltwoche, ist die Zahl der Änderungen rückläufig.
